“Sip & Chat”: A Fresh & Friendly Way to Meet Your Pocket Neighbours

Location: Motorama (862 Danforth Avenue)
Dates: September 5th from 9:30am-11am

Hello Pocket People!

The PCA Neighbourhood Support Committee is happy to announce a fresh and friendly way to meet your neighbours, whether you’re young, older or in-between…

We’re organizing a “Sip & Chat”: a coffee/tea social on the first Tuesday of each month at Motorama (862 Danforth Avenue), our friendly local diner!

Starting on Tuesday, June 6th from 9:30am to 11am, and continuing on July 4th, August 1st and September 5th, at least one very friendly member of the Neighbourhood Support Committee will be at Motorama to welcome you. Look for a bag with the Pocket logo on a table and then buy a coffee or tea (or whatever you wish) to sip as we chat.

We hope you’ll join us if you’re new to the neighbourhood, looking to make a new friend or feeling a little lonely or bored–everyone is welcome!

Pocket Community Vigil at Madinah Masjid

Friday, February 3rd 2017 @ 7:45pm

Residents in the Danforth-Donlands area invite you to a candlelight walk this Friday night, encircling the mosque – the Madinah Masjid – to honour the victims of the horrific mass shooting in Quebec. Demonstrate your support for and solidarity with the mosque and its community. Stand together in our mutual call for peace and unity, and against intolerance and bigotry.

Please meet up at 7:45 pm in front of the mosque at 1015 Danforth Avenue for a prayer and welcoming remarks. Bring your candles for a walk around the block to encircle the mosque with an outpouring of community support.

All welcome!

Questions – contact Susan at or Rob at

The PCA took a condolence note to the Mosque on Monday afternoon to convey the community’s support. Please see a copy of the note here.
