This meeting follows the Community Consultation held at St. Leonard’s Hall on 14 May 2014. February 3rd, 2014

With so many trees haven fallen ill in the last year, and unrepairable damage done by last December’s ice storm, the Pocket has lost much of its so beloved tree canopy. Trees help cool our summers, and diminish the chances of floods during heavy rain.

The Pocket Tree Project is taking in orders now for large trees to be planted in Spring 2014. Trees offered by the city are fairly small at about 8 feet tall, but you can purchase a larger sized tree through a bulk purchase program offered by the Pocket Tree Project. These trees cost $500-1200 and are 20′ tall.

Contact Richard at tree project@thepocket.ca to order your tree, or get more information.
