You’re invited to the PCA’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Tuesday, June 22nd. Registration will be from 7:00 to 7:30 PM, with the meeting scheduled for 7:30 to 8:45 PM. Due to pandemic restrictions, this meeting will be held via Zoom.

2020

Join us September 9, 2020 at the PCA Annual General Meeting

You’re invited to the PCA’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Wednesday, September 9th from 7 to 8 PM in Phin Park, 115 Condor Avenue. Everyone is welcome. Due to the outdoor venue, there will be a rain date of September 10th.

The proposed agenda for the evening includes:

6:30 PM: Registration & opportunity to renew membership or join the PCA for $10 (only PCA members are eligible to vote); physically-distanced mingling

7:00 PM: Meeting begins
• Welcome; land acknowledgement; introduction of guests
• Confirmation of quorum
• Approval of minutes of 2019 AGM
• Chair’s report
• Treasurer’s report
• Other Executive & Committee reports
• Election of 2020-21 Executive
• Closing remarks

8 PM: Meeting adjourned

Before the AGM, please:
• Review the minutes from the last AGM (June 10th, 2019). One of the first orders of business will be to approve the minutes, which can be found at www.thepocket.ca under News>Minutes>2019.
• Review the information about each nominee for the Executive – this information will be distributed at least seven days before the AGM.
• Send proposed additional agenda items to info@thepocket.ca by August 26th. This email address may also be used for any questions related to the AGM.
• Note that to maximize the safety and comfort of everyone, we ask you to bring your own seating (folding chairs, blankets, etc.), beverages and snacks, stay two metres apart from people outside of your household/bubble and wear a mask if you’re unable to maintain this distance. Hand sanitizer will be available.

Join us June 10, 2019 at the PCA Annual General Meeting

Members and Friends of the Pocket Community Association,

We hope you’ll join our 2019 Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Monday, June 10, 2019 between 7:00pm – 9:00pm at Wandering Spirit School (formally First Nations School of Toronto), 16 Phin Avenue, in the cafeteria.

The AGM is a great way to learn about initiatives in the Pocket and give your suggestions on how we can make our community an even better place!

The agenda for our meeting includes:

6:30pm – Doors open for neighbourhood social –mingling and light refreshments

7:00pm – AGM Meeting
• Opening remarks
• Executive reports
• Proposed amendments to the PCA Constitution & By-Laws
• Election
• Guest speaker(s) – (TBC)
• “Bake-off” contest (treats with strawberry!) with prizes for 1st and 2nd place
• PCA committee reports
• Discussion of neighbourhood priorities

9:00pm – AGM ends

• Review the minutes from the last AGM, held on June 13, 2018. One of the first orders of business will be to approve the minutes. The minutes can be found on the website under News, Minutes, 2018.
• Review the amendments to the PCA Constitution & By-Laws. The document can be found on the website under Who We Are, What is the PCA. An order of business will be to approve the amendments.
• Send any proposed additional agenda items to info@thepocket.ca prior to May 30, 2019.

Announcement to Members and Friends of the Pocket Community Association

This is our notice that the Pocket Community Association will hold its Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Tuesday, May 16, 2017 between 7:00pm – 9:00pm at the First Nations School of Toronto. Please add this date to your calendar.

The theme of the AGM is “Welcoming the First Nation School to the Neighbourhood”. We are pleased to include an optional museum and gallery visit, for those who did not have the opportunity for the tour at our May 2016 Town Hall.

If you are interested in being nominated for the PCA’s Board of Directors, please review the Call for Executive Members and provide the appropriate information by April 30th.

The Pocket Community Association AGM January 28, 2016

Announcement to Members and Friends of the Pocket Community Association

This is our notice that the Pocket Community Association will hold its Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Thursday 28 January 2016 between 7.30 and 9.30 at St. David’s Church Hall, downstairs. St. David’s is at 49 Donlands Avenue, directly across from the TTC Donlands entrance. Please put this date into your appointment book and we will look forward to seeing you there. The doors open at 7.00 p.m. and snacks, coffee and tea will be available. At this AGM we will be holding a Bake-Off for best butter tarts, so please be prepared to bring your entries and your taster, since all participants get to select the winner. Also in case any PCA Members have items to be added to the agenda, please send them to me in an email prior to 14 January. Much obliged. An Agenda will be sent around closer to the AGM date. See you at the AGM. It should be highly informative and fun.

In preparation for the AGM on 28 January 2016 at St. David’s Church Hall, I encourage you to:

  • Read the Proposed Nomination & Election Policy, since it is time for PCA Members to vote on whether this proposal is to become the formal policy of the association for the future. This policy was circulated as a draft last May to PCA Members with a request for feedback or suggestions for revision. No suggestions were made by PCA Members to modify the draft policy. Therefore it is ready for a ratification vote; PROPOSED Nomination & Election Policy for AGM Jan 2016
  • Also, one of the first orders of business at the AGM will be to approve the minutes of the AGM held on 22 January 2015. Please read these minutes. They can be found in the website under News, Minutes, 2015.

The Pocket Community Association AGM January 30, 2014

The next Annual General Meeting is planned for January 30, 2014. Doors open at 7:15pm and the meeting starts at 7:30pm. The meeting will be held at St. David’s Church (downstairs), 49 Donlands Avenue, just across the street from the TTC station.
