Art in the Park needs your help!
The Pocket Community Association (PCA) and resident artist Jerry Silverberg, put a lot of work into applying for Toronto Art Council grants each year so that we can run the beloved Art in the Park during the summer months in Phin Avenue Parkette.
For the past 3 years we have successfully received enough money to run the program for either July, August or both. Sadly, this year we were not so lucky and did not receive any funding!
It is an expensive project to run, costing approximately $1,000 per week. Our hope is that with generous community donations, paired with a lump sum from the PCA, we can run the project for at least 4 weeks this summer. Maybe longer, depending on the funds we can raise.
We can’t do this without your help, so please consider giving whatever you can so that our community’s kids (and adults alike) can benefit from this wonderful, inclusive, free neighborhood program.

2017 – Volunteers Needed!
Volunteer opportunity this summer for students looking for community hours
The Art in the Park project in Phin Park is looking for student volunteers in need of their community hours. The volunteers will work with the Artist in Residence Jerry Silverberg to facilitate art activities in the park.
Over July and August there are 4 different arts disciplines offered. These include printmaking, collage, bookmaking and puppetry. You can volunteer for any length of time but a one week commitment would be wonderful. The art making begins each day, Monday to Thursday from 11am to 3pm.
The volunteer will assist in setting up, working with participants ranging from 5 years old to adults in making art. This is a wonderful opportunity to get your volunteer
hours in a creative environment.
For information or to reserve your dates please call Jerry Silverberg or email: jerrys@total.net
