Pocket Rock-it!

Who says you can’t have a festival in Toronto this summer? Not the PCA! We’re excited to announce that the PCA will be hosting a music festival in the Pocket: The Pocket Rock-It! On August 8, 2021, come out to listen to some great tunes, hang out with neighbours and strengthen our community. We are lucky to have so many amazing musicians who live in our neighbourhood and have offered to perform for us on their porches, lawns, driveways and back decks.
The festival will start at 2pm and run til just after 5:30pm. Take a look at our route map and schedule to find out who will be performing, where and at what time. We’ll have popcorn and drinks for sale as well as a donation box available to contribute to the PCA.
Looking forward to seeing everyone out and about in our special neighbourhood!

Danforth Avenue Study
Location: Monarch Park Collegiate
Date: Monday, January 27th: 6:30 PM
Danforth Avenue is a truly key street in the City of Toronto, as both the heart of the community for many of us who live near The Danforth and as a destination and thoroughfare for people who live in all parts of the city.
The City of Toronto is undertaking a study of Danforth Avenue to help support future decisions about this important “corridor”. The first of its kind for Toronto, the study of Danforth between Broadview and Coxwell has three integrated components:
1. Planning and development framework
2. Economic development and retail study
3. Complete street design and implementation plan – how should Danforth be designed to support all uses of the street and road, including pedestrians, cyclists, drivers, and transit.
The Pocket Community Association is pleased to share this information with you in case you would like to provide input on the project. Toronto’s next community consultation takes place on Monday, January 27th at Monarch Park Collegiate (1 Hanson Street). All are welcome to participate in the Open House that will run from 6:30 to 9:00 pm.
