With so many trees haven fallen ill in the last year, and unrepairable damage done by last December’s ice storm, the Pocket has lost much of its beloved tree canopy. Trees help cool our houses in the summer, diminish the chances of floods during heavy rain, but above all, they contribute to a beautiful, healthy neighbourhood.
The Pocket Tree Project is taking in orders now for extra large trees to be planted in Spring 2014. Trees offered by the city are fairly small at about 8 feet tall, but through the Tree Project’s bulk program, you can purchase a larger sized tree at a discounted price. These trees only cost $500-1200 and are 20′ tall.
