Saturday April 26, 10 – 11:30 am: Pocket Green Space Clean-Up & 12-1 pm TRCA’s free "Gardening in a Changing Climate" Workshop
Bring your rakes, shovels and wheelbarrows to help us "tidy" (without disturbing wintering insects!) Phin Park, the Designated Off-Leash Area (dog park) and Oakvale Green, and to take home free compost (courtesy of Councillor Paula Fletcher). There'll be free beverages and baked goods (treats and monetary donations welcome). Work gloves recommended!
From 12 to 1 pm, join us for an engaging in-person workshop led by TRCA Pocket SNAP staff. You’ll discover ways to create climate-resilient landscapes at home. Learn about techniques like rainwater harvesting, native plant gardening, rain gardens, and permeable paving to help your garden thrive. Whether you’re a seasoned green thumb or just starting out, this hands-on session will empower you to cultivate a more sustainable, eco-friendly outdoor space!
