It's that time again, to come out with your kids and/or friends, and enjoy one of the greatest events in this neighbourhood! 2pm onwards, there will be games, parades, and movies for the kids, high tea, a beer tent and wine bar for the adults, and of course you can't miss the potluck dinner and live bands! We look forward to seeing you there!
Minutes from the TTC Comittee meeting, 16 July
This meeting follows the Community Consultation held at St. Leonard’s Hall on 14 May 2014. The community provided input into remediation and improvement of the greenspace known as the west side of Oakvale Green (which has been defined and respected in a Memorandum of Understanding signed by the TTC and the Pocket Community Association).
Phin Park Artist in Residence
The Pocket Community Association with support from the Toronto Arts Council is pleased to present Art in Phin Park with multi-disciplinary artist Jerry Silverberg. Jerry will be the Artist in Residence in Phin Park for the months of July and August. During Jerry’s time in the park he will be facilitating, demonstrating and teaching various arts practices.
The Pocket Book is available online!
After many, many weeks of hard work, we finalized "The Pocket Book", the one and only list of businesses and service recommendations made by your Pocket neighbours. The list was previously known as the "Pocket Recommendations and Skills Exchange List", and was hosted on the Pocket Facebook page. The PCA took this list of recommendations a step further: we created a searchable online database where with a simple search function you can find all businesses according to category or key word. The Pocket Book also allows you to vote for a business or service, by clicking on a 'thumbs up' icon, and to add comments (note that login is required for placing comments). As a bonus, we have also created a filter that shows Pocket based services and businesses only.
TTC - PCA Consultation meeting minutes

Done Deal! TTC-PCA Greenspace Agreement is Signed!
At last! After years of negotiation, the PCA is pleased to announce that we have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the TTC to protect the west and south parts of Oakvale Green at the subway yards. The MOU recognizes that the Pocket community has a stake in the greenspace and defines the maintenance standards which the TTC has been using to keep the grounds in reasonably good condition.
Pocket Street Sale
Date: Saturday, May 31 at 9am
Empty your basement and garage and make a little cash! Wander down the street and find that treasure you didn't know you needed. We will put some sign boards out and advertise, you just need to take part.
Calling all Photographers
We want photographs of the greenspace at Oakvale Green in its current state, so we can show the TTC what it looks like in the spring. This will help the TTC understand why the greenspace needs restoration.
Phin Park Clean Up
